Our Sales team is looking for a personable, tenacious, enterprising, and energetic individual who has a strong interest in research and thrives in a team setting. The Junior Sales Representative will work with the Head of Sales, and with Senior Sales Representatives, to provide sales coverage to current OTR clients.  This person will focus on the research distribution to institutional clients and help drive client interactions and marketing of OTR products. A motivated and successful individual can expect to earn primary coverage responsibilities within 2 years.  

Personal and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus related work / internship; 0 – 2 years’ experience
  • Series 7 and 63 will be required within the first three months
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Researcher/Reporter - Enterprise Software - Europe Based - Part Time

Roles and Responsibilities

OTR Global's Enterprise Software group is looking for a Researcher in Europe to join its global team. The individual in this role should be adept at covering a broad array of topics within the software industry. They will work closely with Director of Software Research and other researchers in the team to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment audience by conducting primary research. The Software Researcher should be able to efficiently develop new relationships with industry professionals in the U.K. and other key markets in Europe - typically enterprise software companies’ implementation partners, resellers and distributors, and other high-level individuals - and maintain those relationships over time.

The Researcher needs to be creative, curious, and most of all determined to build a dependable list of contacts often viewed as difficult to reach. The Researcher’s primary responsibility will be conducting in-depth interviews by phone and contributing source feedback to research reports. Clear and concise communication skills are also important aspects of this role. This is an hourly telecommuting position, and a unique opportunity to work with and learn from one of the most differentiated investment research companies in the securities industry.

Professional and Personal Qualifications

  • Background in the software industry, IT consulting, or in reporting and/or research; knowledge of the financial industry and investment basics a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in inside sales at enterprise software companies, IT consulting, or experience in journalism and research of enterprise software topics.
  • Ability to network in remote setting and develop new sources across various enterprise software topics, and maintain relationships over time; existing high-level implementation partner, distributor and reseller sources a plus.
  • Understanding of the key trends shaping the enterprise software landscape, and ability to identify inflections in those trends; experience with financial writing a plus.
  • Well developed, positive communication and excellent interviewing skills; ability to “connect the dots” and clearly articulate research conclusions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, proactive thinking, ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure; schedule flexibility a must.
  • Proven ability to work well within teams, self-motivated, showing initiative, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Must be comfortable working remotely.

Researcher/Reporter - Network Communications - US Based

OTR Global's Network Communications group is looking for a Researcher in the U.S. to join its global team. The individual in this role will work closely with senior researchers in the group to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment audience by conducting primary research. The Network Communications Researcher should be able to efficiently develop new relationships with industry professionals - typically senior managers of North American wireless carriers and network operators, service partners for public cloud providers, wholesalers, and other high-level individuals - and maintain those relationships over time.
The Researcher needs to be creative, curious, and most of all determined to build a dependable list of contacts often viewed as difficult to reach. The Reporter’s primary responsibility will be conducting in-depth interviews and contributing source feedback to research reports. Regular writing opportunities may be assigned after showing ability to deliver high quality source interviews, so clear, concise writing and communication skills are other important aspects of this role. Professional and Personal Qualifications

  • Background in investigative reporting, research and/or network engineering and network infrastructure for wireless service providers; knowledge of the financial industry and investment basics a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in telecommunications or experience in journalism and research of network communications topics.
  • Ability to develop new sources across various network communications, infrastructure and cloud services topics, and maintain relationships over time in a virtual setting; existing high-level wireless carrier, components OEMs and service partners sources a plus.
  • Understanding of the key trends shaping the telecommunications carrier and supplier landscape and LTE/5G technologies development, and ability to identify inflections in those trends; knowledge of network components industry, data center and cloud technologies a plus.
  • Well developed, positive communication and excellent interviewing skills; ability to “connect the dots” and clearly articulate research conclusions.
  • Must be available for occasional travel to key industry events in North America for in-person networking/source development opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, proactive thinking, ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure; schedule flexibility a must.
